Vineyard surface: 3.200 hectares.
Geology: Complicated topography, the vineyards grow down the slopes of the mountains, at altitudes ranging from between 550 and 1,040 meters.
Climate: Continental Mediterranean with cold winters and hot summers. The average yearly temperature is 13.1ºC, with great differences in temperature between night and day during the ripening period of the grape. Average rainfall is between 300 and 550 mm.
Soil: 75% of the vineyards in Calatayud are found in geological areas made up of loose material, gentle slopes and ridges with sands, clays and slate. The types of ground are Gravels, Red slates, Gray slates, Loam and Ferrous clay.
